WAR-Flux - Part of HOLP3 - Download Standalone Map - PS3 Download

Info [Subtract -]
WAR-Flux

Flux is a small to medium sized warfare map for UT3, ideally played with 12 players however more or less works fine. Created originally to be a seperate map it was later included in the popular HOLP3 Map pack. A pack founded to keep great gameplay, simplicity all in one, with visuals of that like UT1, but with some of UT3's pop.

Flux was worked on over a rather long period of time, with about 2 - 3 months work overall by the end of it. As the vast majority of this map is BSP, the textures are what creates the visuals here, Flux went through many different visual styles until reaching the final set, which were created from stock images within photoshop and one from UT2004, plus a few stock UT3 ones. Again the lighting plays a major part in the visuals of the map. it features a kismet rigged up hologram in each base which shows a layout of the warfare nodes and colours them as to which team owns them.

Review: SkaarjMaster "Wild inside (almost cool CTF-type layout) WAR map and very sunny and windmill-like outside. I liked this one and it's the best WAR map in the pack ;). Seriously though, I don't play WAR that much and this was definitely fun. :)"

DM-Z - Part of HOLP3 - Download Standalone Map

DM-Z

Z is a small, 4-8 player, DM map for UT3. Created to be part of the HOLP3 pack, again gameplay before visuals.

Whilst i was building this map I decided to do something special with the lighting again so the visuals would be something different yet not be let down by the fact it's low poly. As a result the map has many cubes placed throughout it, glowing either Orange, Blue or Pink. Along with these a custom emitter was created to be a replacement for a teleport.

Review: SkaarjMaster "This has good shadows and design with the almost lego floors and the...wtf is that blue thing? Oh, a teleporter :). I'm not sure I like the cubes that much, but I did like the placement of the Udamage. I did notice the bots getting stuck under the shock rifle though. I liked the narrow ledges, layout and ramp/lift placement; you just have to figure out what to do and then it's fun."

DM-Faze

Faze is a medium sized DM map, aimed to those who play TDM and BTA in UT3. Created to be part of HOLP3 so mainly BSP only and lowpoly.

Faze took about a month to create overall. With some feedback from skilled TDM and Duel players aswell as those who play casually. These stays very similar throughout and id have loved to have put a better texture variety within the map but didnt get around to doing so. Trying to keep the visuals simple yet look good was the main challenge, at the end of it the lighting helps play a large part in the map looking good.

Review: UTUnlimited :: 84/100

SkaarjMaster "Another good one that's more open but still tight. I like the sky and the way the ocean looks along the edges of the map. The bots seem to like one particular area of the map, but a fun bot match can still be had. Good use of the textures and colors in the HOLP style in a map that is a great TDM map."

DM-Restrict v1

Restrict is a small, 2 - 6 player map for UT3. Created originally as part of a college project this evolved into a playable DM map.

Worked on rather quickly for the MSUC Phase 3 deadline, so it was built with hardly any feedback from veteran players. Although in this time the visuals in the environment came to life with some lighting that i spent much more time on then my previous maps. The visuals are the main focus in this map.

The design of this map came from old and derelict places, as such the roof is rusting and falling away, brick walls are lined with holes. The lighting in this map had a large amount of time spent on it, for some sections custum meshes were created to create shadows to really bring the details out. The lighting is mostly static however a few dynamic ones add some subtle enhancements. The whole map also features dynamic weather, based around the sheild belt within the map, just before it spawns a storm starts to brew and rain pours down, whilst the thunder rolls and the lightning above claps. After the belt is grabbed the storm goes away as quickly as it came, leaving god rays from the sun shinging through the destroyed roof.

Make Something Unreal Contest - Phase 2 - vCTF 3rd Place

Info [Subtract -]
vCTF-Defection_SE

Defection is a medium, 6 - 12 player map for UT3. Created for vCTF players bored of the stock maps, more experimenting within Unreal Engine, Kismet to be exact and to be entered to Make Something Unreal Contests second phase.

Defection was worked on in two phases, due to exams in the middle. Overall about 3 - 4 weeks was spent working on the map. It was again tested by seasoned players of the gamemode it was being designed for. It has much more player feedback then valley, lights flicker once your flag is taken. Lights come on and off in sections of the map to signal pickups and power-ups spawning. Along with burnable bushes and trees.

They layout was designed to give flag runners who had no vehicle support some routes out of and into bases where they wopuldn't have to fight unfairly vs vehicles. But at the same time making sure that these routes wouldn't let them get away easily either. The majority of these routes may provide some extra cover however they do also streth further then the open middle of the map.

WAR-Valley

Valley is a medium, 8-14 player map for UT3. Created initally for learning the Unreal 3 engine, it became a fully finished level.

It was built from scratch in an intense 30 days. It was tested many times through varioud releases by seasoned Warfare players. It could do with some lighting and general environment improvements, however it's played quite regularly on UT3 Warfare servers.

Award: MSUC Phase 1 - 1st Place Warfare Map

Review: Fileplanet - And voted best Warfare map is WAR-Valley, which should also win the "Boring-in-screenshots-OUTSTANDINGLY-fun-gameplay" award if one existed. The gameplay just sucks you in, and the level design is amazing.

WAR-Downtown_Necris 2.0

This is a collaboration with Bi()ha2ard, to edit Epic's Downtown map. Before they went and released their own version of Downtown_Necris (Ours is still better). Featuring a completely re-lit version, still at night. But under attack from the Necris, as you run around try to avoid the tentacles falling from the sky and blocking off routes so you have to detour. And ofcourse Necris vehicles allow you to have twice the fun you can have with Axon ones.

DM_Defiance_Night

This map is a re-lit and slightly modified version of Epic's Defiance. Instead of the sun shining down at mid-day you have the moon in the sky hiding behind the clouds. The lights are all lit up, casting some lovely looking shadows in some places. No effects have been added ontop of this one. However an area that is within the stock Defiance but seemed to be left out of the original has been brough back to life, with a workign dodge ramp/slope. That surprisingly even bots will use here.

This is still a 100% playable map, so have fun if you want to.

DM-ShangriLaStormy - Download

Info [Subtract −]
DM-ShangriLa Stormy

This map isn't intended for gameplay, why? Because it features several thousand rain meshes. It was created for fun with no care for perfomance in mind. The enviromental changes from the stock, sunny winters day version are quite dramatic. With an intense storm raging overhead, gallons of rain falling from the sky lowering visibility and flooding almost everything. As flashes from lightning stikes light up the world around you.

Although all of the gameplay elements such as weapon pickups are still included in this map, it wasn't intended for gameplay, and your FPS will suffer drastically on high settings. But feel free to download and have a look at it.
